Hi, I'm Syd! I am a professional makeup artist with nearly 6 years in the beauty industry.  My journey to where I am today has taken many different paths. Let's dive right in, shall we?

 

Just a little background on me—I graduated from Rutgers University in 2018 with degrees in Criminal Justice and Human Resource Management. After college, I worked as an HR Administrator for a few years. 

 

Makeup, however, has always been something I’ve loved for as long as I can remember. I was the girl spending hours watching YouTube makeup gurus instead of binge-watching TV shows. I loved teaching myself new techniques, creating videos, and practicing glam on my friends whenever I had the chance.

It wasn’t until 2020 that I realized I wanted makeup to be my full-time career. While I was still working in Human Resources, I couldn’t shake the feeling that I needed to pursue something I was truly passionate about. After doing my research, I attended an open house at a makeup school in Hoboken, NJ—and the moment I left, I called my parents and said, “I HAVE to go here!”

After completing over 150 hours of professional training, I graduated from Artist Makeup Academy in July 2020. I began taking clients even before graduating and quickly immersed myself in the bridal industry. I knew the best way to build my name and gain experience was to say “yes” to every opportunity that came my way—whether it was paid or unpaid.

In 2021, I accepted a role as an HR Coordinator at Estée Lauder Companies while continuing to grow my freelance makeup business on the weekends. During my time there—working closely with Clinique—I built strong relationships with the brand’s Education Team and had the opportunity to support them on several projects while still in my HR role.

​

After about a year of collaborating with the team, I was offered the opportunity to officially join Clinique’s Education Team in 2023. Today, I am Assistant Manager on Clinique’s Global Dermatological Education and Services team. And yes—that’s my full-time job, while I continue to pursue my freelance career as a professional makeup artist. You could definitely say I keep myself busy!​

I specialize in bridal makeup, where I have the privilege of spending many weekends with my beautiful brides and their bridal parties. There’s truly nothing better than being a small part of someone’s big day and helping them feel beautiful both inside and out.  My goal is to enhance natural beauty through elevated, timeless artistry. Whether it’s for a wedding, bridal or baby shower, or any special event, I’m dedicated to creating customized looks that help women feel confident and like the best version of themselves.

 

One of my favorite parts of being a makeup artist is sharing my techniques and tips with others. I host “Slay and Sip” makeup classes—fun, BYOB sessions where I guide clients through a step-by-step makeup routine using the products they already own.  It’s so special not only to glam others, but also to teach women of all ages how to do their own makeup in ways they may have never learned before. I truly love what I do—both in my corporate career and in my freelance business. No matter how busy or chaotic life gets, I wouldn’t change this journey for the world.
